2 CDVs of Lincoln, each originally taken in Chicago, IL, 4 October 1859 at the Cooke & Fassett gallery, (Ostendorf, O-16). First CDV with verso imprint of "N.B. Rideout, Over Freeman's Bank, Augusta, ME." Second CDV uncredited.

This portrait was produced a year after Lincoln's defeat to Stephen A. Douglas in the 1858 senate elections, and only a few months before his famous Cooper Union speech in New York City on 27 February 1860. The negative for this photograph was destroyed in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.
